Sad Iron #6 Antique Cast Iron Flat Iron Primitive Laundry Tool

Authentic antique No. 6 cast iron sad iron dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. Originally heated on a wood or coal stove for pressing clothing before electric irons became common. Today these heavy cast iron irons are popular as primitive farmhouse décor, bookends, paperweights, doorstops, shelf displays, and country kitchen accents. A solid, unmarked example with a rich aged patina that displays beautifully.
