Vintage 1930s Disney Pluto at the Piano Mug, Salem China Co, Patriot China, Black Rope Handle, Pre-WWII Disneyana Collectible

This exceptional piece of early American animation history is an authentic 1930s Walt Disney Enterprises ceramic character mug manufactured during the height of the Depression era. Produced in Ohio by the historic Salem China Company for their Patriot China distributor line, this rare collectible features a classic, pre-WWII "pie-eyed" depiction of Pluto the Pup happily seated on a stool playing a grand piano. The mug is instantly identified by its distinctive molded black rope-twist handle and the matching raised, textured rope border wrapping completely around the bottom rim. On the underside of the base, the mug features the highly sought-after, authentic interlocking "SL" monogram maker's mark alongside the incised factory mold number "85." These pristine factory markings provide an ironclad verification of authenticity, distinguishing this genuine 1930s survivor from later mid-century reproductions.
