From The Vintage ButterflySee more from The Vintage Butterfly

An antique Roseville Pottery Rozane Royal Dark vase from the early 1900s, produced in Zanesville, Ohio and introduced around 1904. The signature Royal Dark standard glaze shades from warm amber at the shoulder into a deep, almost-black chocolate at the base, with hand-decorated yellow floral relief blooming across the front and twin loop handles framing the shoulders. Rozane was Roseville's answer to Rookwood's standard glaze line, and it remains one of the most sought-after early Roseville lines among American art pottery collectors. This is a true antique art pottery piece — Arts and Crafts era, dark academia in temperament, and equally at home in a cabinet-of-curiosities display or a moody mantel vignette. Approximately 6" tall per the ruler shown; light crazing to the glaze consistent with age, as is typical and expected of Rozane of this period.
