Porcelain Half Doll Pincushion Topper, Arms Away

$48.00

From The Vintage ButterflySee more from The Vintage Butterfly

A porcelain half doll pincushion topper in the sought-after "arms away" pose — the arms fully modeled and pulled clear of the body, which is what serious half doll collectors look for first. She has hand-painted features, a soft rose mouth, and long golden curls swept back from her face, with the two sew holes at the base where she'd once have been mounted to a silk pincushion or powder box. These boudoir dolls were a hallmark of the 1910s–1930s vanity, and they've become a favorite of collectors and whimsigoth stylists alike. Display her as-is on a shelf or vanity, or mount her to a fabric skirt and bring her back to her original purpose. Approximately 4.5" tall per the ruler shown; light age wear and firing marks to the interior.
