Bound in red cloth with a contrasting black spine and gilt lettering, the book opens onto beautiful printed endpapers in a green oak-leaf and acorn pattern that alone would be worth framing. Inside is a full mid-century decorating course — color, furniture, arrangement, and room planning as the American home was being reinvented. A wonderful vintage design reference and a striking piece of shelf styling for a dark academia bookcase, a red-and-black color story, or a stack under a lamp.
