Fondeville Ambassador Ware Red Floral Cup and Saucer

A wide teacup and matching saucer covered edge to edge in a red transferware chintz print, roses and dahlias and trailing leaves scattered over a fine dotted ground with little butterflies tucked in between the blooms. The interior of the cup is left plain white so the pattern reads all the more richly from the outside. Marked on the underside with the green Fondeville Ambassador Ware England backstamp. Fondeville was a New York importer that had English potteries produce wares under this name from the 1920s through the mid century. Light utensil wear and normal age wear consistent with use.
