Russian Matryoshka Nesting Dolls Green Gold Set of 7

8" Vintage Russian matryoshka nesting dolls, a complete set of seven, hand painted in deep emerald green over natural birch wood with pyrography detail burned directly into the grain. Gold accent paint picks out the headscarf edges, the floral blossoms and the trailing white dot borders. The largest babushka doll carries a long braid down her shoulder and a wood burned flower at her collar, and every face is individually hand painted right down to the smallest solid doll. All seven dolls open and nest cleanly. Light surface wear and small paint variations consistent with handmade folk art. Hand painted wooden stacking dolls like these are a favorite for cottagecore shelves, curiosity cabinets, folk art collections and Slavic decor, and they make a wonderful gift for a collector.
