Guildcraft Miss Bowles and Her Dog Round Tin Wall Plaque

A round lithographed tin wall plaque reproducing Sir Joshua Reynolds's portrait of Miss Bowles and her dog, the original of which hangs in the Wallace Collection in London. The print sits in a deep dished center ringed by a wide faux wood grain rim, giving the effect of a carved wooden frame at a fraction of the weight. 8" in diameter. The gold reverse carries printed notes on Reynolds and the painting, along with the original instruction that no special hanger is needed since the curled edge hooks over a simple tack. Marked Guildcraft, Frenchtown, New Jersey. The sepia and deep blue palette suits a moody gallery wall, a library corner, or a stack of dog portrait pieces. Light surface wear consistent with age. Vintage tin wall plaque, Reynolds print, girl with dog portrait, Guildcraft tin, gallery wall art, cottage wall decor.
