From The Vintage ButterflySee more from The Vintage Butterfly

Vintage portrait print of Karl Moor, the robber hero of Friedrich Schiller's 1781 play The Robbers (Die Räuber). It's after the drawing by German artist Friedrich Pecht, which was engraved in steel for the Schiller-Galerie, published in 1859. Karl Moor stands in front of oak leaves with a curled mustache, a lace cravat, and lace cuffs, holding a pistol with another tucked in his sash. It's framed under glass in an oval gilt frame with beaded inner trim and ribbon twist outer molding, with a rosy red undertone. It has paper backing and a hanging wire on the back. Perfect for a library, a gallery wall, or a dark academia corner. There are two small cracks in the gilt on the left and right sides, and the backing paper has age staining. Keywords: Karl Moor, Friedrich Pecht, Schiller, The Robbers, Die Rauber, Schiller Galerie, oval frame portrait, gilt frame, dark academia decor, literary art print
