Antique Goofus glass vase with a molded grape-and-leaf cluster design, tapered urn shape, narrow neck. Remnants of the original cold-painted decoration remain, including paint visible on the interior.
Genuine antique Goofus glass vase, early 1900s, featuring a bold molded grape cluster and leaf pattern in a tapered urn shape with a narrow flared neck. Goofus glass was pressed clear or milk glass decorated with unfired ("cold") paint in gold and other colors, which is why the coloring wears with age, exactly as it has here. Traces of the original painted decoration remain on the surface and are also visible on the interior of the vase. A wonderful piece of early American pressed glass history for a collector or as a textural display piece.
